L30 Keiki Maui by Hawaiʻi Artist Dietrich Varez
After his mother, Hina, set her mischievous child (keiki) adrift in the ocean, a large jellyfish swam up under Maui and carried him to the sacred lands of Kauihelani where the great Gods Kane and Kanaloa lived. During his journey, the birds and fish became Maui's companions.
